Private Practice – Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine - 4/02-Present

Currently treating patients in Midtown Manhattan at "The Berkely Center".  I see a huge variety of conditions including but not limited to:  Pain management, sports injuries, pre and post surgical management, OB/GYN conditions, migraines, digestive disorders, mental disorders, depression/anxiety, etc.

Head Athletic Trainer  -  Hong Kong National Rugby Team - 3/02-4/02

Was asked to temporarily take over medical coverage of the Hong Kong National Rugby Team’s under 14 developmental squad.  During this time I covered practices and a two week five game road trip to Singapore and Australia.  All injuries and illnesses were under my supervision.  On this trip I gained much experience in dealing with foreign hospitals/doctors as well as multiple cases of food poisoning, bronchial infections, and dehydration.  Also, a large part of my duties included teaching both the coaching staff and the young athletes about injury and dehydration prevention.

Private Practice – Hong Kong Athletic Trainer at-large  -  12/01-4/02

Saw individual patients on a per-hour basis in Hong Kong.  Most clients were local expatriates who played Rugby, Soccer, or Field Hockey somewhat competitively and were unhappy with local Australian or Chinese trained physiotherapists’ services.  Treatments consisted of evaluation and prognosis of injuries as well as progressive rehabilitation to full activity.  Modalities were hands-on only (no e-stim/ultrasound) and consisted of PNF, Trigger Point Release, and Active Release Therapy.

Medical Consultant – Ken Shamrock Submission Fighting Team - 6/01-11/01

Established home rehabilitation programs for injured professional fighters and covered special events in case of medical emergencies or other injuries.  In addition to this I have also laid the foundation for a local medical group specializing in sports medicine to begin covering these fighters and events with basic medical coverage at no charge to the gym.

Assistant Athletic Trainer – San Diego Gulls Pro Ice Hockey team-9/99-11/01

Assisted Head Trainer Bill Taylor (no relation) as needed and provided full training responsibilities in traveling situations when he was unable to attend.  Services included providing during-game injury management, taping/bracing procedures, generating and assisting rehabilitation protocols, traveling responsibilities, etc.  Also, many skills were acquired at this position which enhanced my ability to communicate with the professional athlete and to understand his/her needs as opposed to the needs of amateur and collegiate level athletes.  Under my care were players and former players from the NHL, IHL, CHL, ECHL, and WCHL.

Head Athletic Trainer – San Diego Flash Pro Soccer team - 3/00-11/01

Provided full care of professional athletes (both “A” League and Major League Soccer players) in the absence of the Head Trainer for much of the 2000 season.  For the remainder of the season the Head Trainer mentored and refined my skills as a professional level Athletic Trainer.  During the 2001 season I acted as Head Athletic Trainer, including international travel and medical team maintenance.  I had the chance to manage the care of athletes from the low end of the professional spectrum all the way up to World Cup professionals (Alexi Lalas.)
