Kung fu / Qi Gong

Yes, I am back by popular demand!  I have once again starting teaching Kung Fu, and if there should be enough demand will begin teaching Qi Gong.

Style particulars:

Lai Tong Pai is a style that is excellent for both men and women. It has an emphasis on Kung (power) training, close movements (like Wing Chun), and developing hand sensitivity and touch (sticky hands).  In addition, the style includes traditional Lion Dancing and weapons training.

It is directly descended from the Southern Sil Lum (Shao Lin) Temple.  Our Si Kung trained under an Abbot at the temple in both Kung Fu and Bone Medicine.

It can be practiced either externally or internally, depending on the skill of the practitioner.

Location and Time:

I am currently securing studio space in the area of 25th street and 6th avenue in Manhattan.  Check back very soon for more details.

Classes will be Tuesday evenings starting at either 6:00 or 6:30 and lasting 2 hours.

Cost:

$15 per person / per class

Instructor and Lineage:

For the Wikipedia version of our style's history, click here.

Drew has trained under Sifu Li Keung in Charlotte, NC for many years, as well as under SiKung Kong Hoi in Hong Kong.  As a matter of fact, Drew was the first Gui Lo (White Devil) to learn from SiKung.  He had not taught officially in over 20 years at that time.  After opening up the doors, other students of Li Keung have taken the trip across the pond and have been taught openly by SiKung.

Training included the internal and external aspects of the Lai Tong Pai style as well as traditional Dit Da (“Hit Fall”) Medicine.  Drew has taught both privately and formally in Charlotte and is now beginning to teach in New York.
